About us
Forest & Maker is one of the UK’s most sustainable and environmentally conscious commercial furniture makers.
Based in Wiltshire in the South West of England, our business was born out of a deep respect for craft and nature. What started as two friends handcrafting made-to-order wood pieces in their spare time, has grown into an award-winning workshop of passionate craftspeople who can answer even the most challenging brief.
Working with some of the UK’s best-known architects and commercial designers, we make bespoke, timber commercial furniture and fittings for complex or large scale projects that connects people to the natural world. We do this because we firmly believe that the specification of products made from sustainable, certified and natural timber can have the most incredible, positive impacts on our physical and mental health.

Our furniture is crafted with passion, precision and pride. Every piece is individual; it has its own provenance and story – adding authenticity and beauty to each new environment it inhabits.

We personally select the timber we use. A process that’s driven by provenance, sustainability and wellness
We care deeply about the forests that rear our wood. Nothing is left to chance: each piece we make is from hand-selected timber from sustainable, certified sources. As proof, we hold a Grown in Britain Chain of Custody certificate (which you can read about here). It’s in our culture to give back more than we take. Which is why we constantly re-evaluate our practices to ensure our environmental impact is always positive.

As well as our expertise with wood, we also fabricate all of the metalwork that accompanies our pieces.
This design and build process not only ensures our pieces are seamlessly put together, but means we can tailor the metals to complement the environment they will soon inhabit.
