Starting with one extremely characterful live edge slab of English Oak, we were tasked with creating a practical work space for the team at STAC Architecture to enjoy within their new office space. Alongside this it was paramount that we maintained the natural characteristics of this spectacular material.

This piece features clear resin and a bespoke steel rod base providing a contemporary contrast to the rustic top. This piece of timber has been purposefully left ‘unflattened’ to maintain its character and thickness, whilst providing a useable work surface.
To reach the boardroom in this space you must first pass a large glass door. In order to provide a rustic element to this feature the Forest & Maker team produced hand turned Pippy Oak ‘push and pull’ door handles.
